The DAD Base is a men’s ministry and Christian non-government organization in Kampala Uganda, started in July 2020.

We are an ARMY of Christ, that is deliberate about sharing AUTHENTIC conversations on fatherhood and sonship, becoming the REDEEMED sons of God, promoting MASCULINITY, and YIELDING to a life fully surrendered to Christ Jesus. We are a platform where men encourage each other, through their own life experiences of victories and brokenness in sonship and fatherhood.

We are building a united force of men walking proudly and courageously in wisdom, knowledge and understanding of our identity in Christ. Surrendering our pain, fear, shame and guilt to Him. We believe every son needs a present father who raises them to be men who are spiritually, physically, financially, socially and emotionally strong through discipleship and mentorship.

Statistical facts about the state of fatherlessness in Uganda carried out in 2018, by Family Life Network-Uganda shows that:

0 %

Only 5% of fathers were actively involved in the lives of their children.

0 %

Of fathers were not aware of the existence of the children they have fathered themselves.

0 %

Of households in Uganda were headed by women.

The DAD Base is structured within the following pillars (ARMY):

AUTHENTIC: We are men that are transformed to act in ways that show their our selves and how we feel. Rather than showing people only a particular side of ourselves, we desire to see all sons and fathers being genuine in their expression. An authentic man has the right attitude and understanding of his sin, but most importantly the overcoming power in him through Christ.

“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.” – 1 John 1:8-10 NIV

REDEEMED: Redemption is the purchasing back of something that had been lost, by the payment of a ransom. Redemption (Greek: apolutrosis) refers to the deliverance of Christians from sin or generational bondages. Christ’s blood or life, which he surrendered for us, is the “ransom” by which the deliverance of all his people from the servitude of sin and from its penal consequences is secured. We want all men to hear, believe, and choose to live a redeemed life.

“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:28 NIV

MASCULINITY: Also called manhood or manliness, is a set of attributes, behaviors, and roles associated with boys and men. We desire to see sons and fathers who respond to God’s calling through discipline and sacrificial responsibility. We want every son to aspire to be “men who give until it hurts, and whistle the while”. We want to see that boys do not just grow into bodies of men, but into the Kingdom identity of a man – a Christ-like lifestyle. We want to be sons and fathers who behave with a great character and respond to issues as godly men.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to the point of resentment with demands that are trivial or unreasonable or humiliating or abusive; nor by showing favoritism or
indifference to any of them] but bring them up [tenderly, with lovingkindness] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4 AMP

YIELD:
To surrender or submit to God, as the only higher power and ultimate leader. We are men who are consistent in obeying and emulating Jesus and His Word. Applying all we learn to become more purposeful and productive.

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 14:6 NIV
